iMovie won't recognize my camera ?

i am using a panasonic DVCPROHD leica dicomar. i am using tape and using a firewire 800. i have it in playback mode.

Because iMovie does not deal with the DVCPro HD format. iMovie can deal with HDV and DV... There is nothing wrong with iMovie or your Mac or your camcorder.

As a fine art photographer by profession, and having spent decades participating in the transition of photography from analog to digital, what I find myself concerned about today is how the imaging software industry has created the illusion to photographers that technology is the path to great image-making. Particularly in the use of High Dynamic Range (HDR) imaging, photographers have produced images based on a failed premise — that there is even a need for the technology. The resulting HDR images often look no better than what is printed on place mats — flat, dull, and lifeless.

Com uma câmera Leica M7, uma lente 50mm e filmes preto e branco, Nana acompanhou o trabalho de cinco mulheres, que ganham a vida como prostitutas, na Rodovia Presidente Dutra, principal via de ligação do Rio de Janeiro a São Paulo.  Na obra, além de fotografias em preto e branco, destacam-se imagens denominadas  fototinta , técnica mista que Nana desenvolve desde 1997, onde tinta e fotografia se unem e novos retratos surgem coloridos. Agora, ela nos brinca com o livro Andorinhas (Nau Editora), com lançamento dia 11, no espaço Tom Jobim, no Jardim Botânico. Acompanho há muitos anos o trabalho de Nana Moraes.

SPAR 2011 Conference – Houston, Texas – Part 2

  Probably the most talked about scanner was the new FARO Laser Scanner Focus 3D.   It is a phased base scanner.   Presently I don’t think that you can compare the Faro scanner to the Z&F and Leica directly as they will likely fill different niches in the scanning world. Hardware-Terrestrial Scanners. The two main focuses of the SPAR 2011 conference are education and involvement with hardware products and software products which go along with and enable/enhance 3D Laser Scanning.   At the same time Leica had its 7000 series and Z&F had their latest advancements in their technology displayed.   FARO is a very good stable company and has been in the scanning and precision measurement business for many years but the model which list for between $40,000 and $45,000 will definitely find a place in the market.   Generally I think that this year both of these advanced as much as I have seen since the early years in the industry.   The greatest difficulty of all the scanning products is......
