A four year old could design a better tripod. This one doesn't secure the upper pole to the lower one, meaning the whole weather instrument can be lifted off VERY Very easily. also, the spider spindle has zero locking system, meaning zero stability. And if they had just made the third leg telescoping, install would take 4 minutes, as opposed to 3 hours. DO NOT BUY. Get the simple Davis mounting pole and save yourself the hastle. You're going to be on a roof, how long do you really want to be up there?...
